Step into the joyful, colour-splashed world of watercolour with artist Sally Walsh from Sillier Than Sally Art Studio in this uplifting watercolour painting workshop perfect for absolute beginners and the more advanced looking to add to their skill set.
In this relaxed and welcoming class, you will create your own delightful barn owl with a floral crown, while learning simple techniques that bring life, movement, and personality to your painting.
We begin with a gentle warm-up. During the first 30 minutes Sally will guide you through playful watercolour exercises while sharing the “ways of watercolour,” helping you feel confident before moving into your main artwork.
Next, we sketch our owls together. If drawing is not your thing, do not worry. Sally provides easy templates so everyone can get started comfortably.
Once the outline is complete, the real magic begins. You will learn how to layer colour, create depth, and build those beautiful loose watercolour effects that make this medium so loved. Sally will share her favourite tips and techniques along the way so you leave with both a finished artwork and the skills to continue painting at home.
This Sydney watercolour workshop is designed to be relaxed, supportive, and genuinely fun. Whether you are completely new to painting or an experienced creative wanting to loosen up your style, you will feel right at home.
All materials are provided and you will leave with your finished watercolour owl painting and plenty of inspiration.

Your space in a class is reserved only once full payment has been received.
Our workshop tickets are non refundable, but if you are aware you will be unable to attend, you may pass your ticket to someone else you wish to come in your place.
We do require a minimum number of people to run each class. In the rare event we do not meet the minimum numbers required to run a class, you will be offered your choice of a class transfer to a new date or a full refund.
In the event you forget to come or you are unable to attend a workshop, the ticket is non transferable after the event.
