WOVEN RAFFIA BAG WORKSHOP
Join facilitator Britt Johnson for a therapeutic afternoon of creativity, learning how to weave a raffia tote bag with leather straps.
This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to create something beautiful yet functional. By the end of the class, you will have learned all the techniques to create your very own tote bag and you will take home your kit to complete your creation at home.
During the session you will learn how to four strand braid, all about the properties of raffia, how to start, construct and finish the body of your bag.
All materials will be provided however feel free to bring along any items that you would like to add as decoration to give your bag an even more personal touch eg. seashells, buttons, ribbon, etc.
This workshop is suitable for beginner weavers. Some may complete their bags in the class however it is expected that most will complete their bags at home.
This is an adult open age class but is suitable for age 12 plus and no previous experience is necessary however children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
All materials and light refreshments will be provided.
