Botanical Dyeing Workshop

Join facilitator Britt Johnson for a therapeutic day of creativity, learning how to dye with botanicals from your garden along with plant extracts and edible dyestuffs. 

This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to take the next step in exploring the world of natural dyeing or simply wanting to nourish their creative side with this fascinating technique.

During the class you will learn how to prepare a dye pot, learn about the properties of various natural dyestuffs as well as different folding techniques you can use to help create different dye effects on your material.

By the end of the session you will take home your very own dye diary - a collection of silk swatches with your dye tests - and a beautiful botanical dyed silk scarf as your final project.

This is an adult open age class but is suitable for age 12 plus and no previous experience is necessary however children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

Please take note that things can get a little messy in this class, so best to wear some old clothes.
