Join Artist Bec Schopen for this beautiful mixed media workshop.

Bec called this workshop “The Alchemy of Mixed Media” as she truly believes that when one combines different mediums together, we create an unknown scientific magic.

During this workshop you will use collage with vintage papers, paint, pastels, ink and charcoals and discover how experimenting and being playful with creativity, will not only strengthen our creative muscles but bring mindfulness and joy.

The techniques utilised will not only create a unique and individual artwork that we will send you home with a frame for, it also encourages experimentation; playfulness and the understanding that “mis-takes” can be happy accidents.

You will be gently guided in how to apply different mediums to an A3 size paper and
encouraged to explore not only different mediums but also your inner wisdom.

Suitable for age 12 and up and No experience is necessary.

All materials are provided including nibbles & refreshments.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

Bec Schopen

I am a local artist based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney who has been practising painting and mixed media for over 20 years and educating students for over 10 years. I have a strong focus and love for experimentation and exploring the use of  different art mediums and I gently guide my students to listen and tap into their inner wisdom to discover creative abandon.

My original art works have been collected by art lovers internationally and throughout Australia, and they often convey the "abstract female soul", where I explore the connection between women through generations as well as the relationships that bind and shape us. These distinctive works vary from decorative abstract to representational, however, they are characterised by vibrance, warmth, engaging narratives, and expressions of the soul.

I believe that creativity is awaiting to emerge and blossom within us all especially when we are brave enough to stay curious and allow ourselves to explore and tap into our inner knowing.
