Join felt artist Mirka Jakusova of A pocket full of Whimsy and learn how to make a beautiful embroidered wool felt purse.
Throughout the class, Mirka will share her expertise and techniques on working with wool materials, choosing the right type of felt, threads and stitches to create a stunning seamless design.
The class will cover all the materials and tools needed to create this beautiful project and regardless of whether you are a beginner or a more advanced stitcher - you will learn many tips to help improve your technique and achieve your desired design.
Come and join the class and walk away with valuable skills and knowledge in the art of handmade stitching and working with natural fibres which you can apply to future projects.
Please note: depending on the speed of each participant, you may or may not finish your project during the class, but rest assured you will have everything you need to continue and complete your project at home.
No previous experience is necessary.
All materials are provided including nibbles & refreshments.
This is an adult open age class but is suitable for age 12 plus and no previous experience is necessary.
Please note children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Meet Mirka Jakusova of A pocket full of Whimsy, a talented handmade artist who specializes in working with felt and embroidery. Mirka’s work is all about creating beautiful, unique pieces using high-quality wool felt and wool threads. She starts each project by carefully selecting the colours and textures of felt she wants to use. From there, she hand-cuts and stitches each piece, paying close attention to every detail to ensure that her creations are both beautiful and durable.
Mirka’s work is inspired by nature, and many of her pieces feature whimsical flower patterns. She creates treasure bags in many sizes, decorative dolls and felt necklaces for children, all with her signature style and attention to detail.
