Slow down, observe the beauty in everyday objects, and explore the timeless art of Small Stills - still life painting with artist Sunny South.
Join us for relaxed and inspiring studio session suitable for complete beginners through to more experienced painters. This creative class invites you to step into the world of still life composition, colour exploration and expressive acrylic painting.
Working from a curated arrangement of vintage vessels, linens, fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables, you will learn how artists have captured simple objects for centuries while developing your own unique artistic style.
During the workshop you will explore:
- How to create a pleasing still life composition using classic artistic principles including proportion, balance and focal points.
- How to mix and apply acrylic paint colours to build light, shade and depth.
- Techniques to create texture, contrast and form in your painting.
- Ways to incorporate fine details and finishing touches that elevate your artwork.
Sunny will guide you step by step, making this class perfect if you are new to painting or looking to build confidence in acrylic still life techniques.
At the end of the session you will mount your Small Stills finished artwork onto a recycled clipboard, ready to take home and display or frame along with a set of hand painted cards. It becomes a beautiful reminder of a calm, creative experience with us.
All materials are provided and no previous painting experience is necessary.

WORKSHOP DETAILS
- Open age class – suitable for ages 12+
- As this is an open age class - children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
- No previous experience required – perfect for beginners

Your space in a class is reserved only once full payment has been received.
Our workshop tickets are non refundable, but if you are aware you will be unable to attend, you may pass your ticket to someone else you wish to come in your place.
We do require a minimum number of people to run each class. In the rare event we do not meet the minimum numbers required to run a class, you will be offered your choice of a class transfer to a new date or a full refund.
In the event you forget to come or you are unable to attend a workshop, the ticket is non transferable after the event.
Whilst arriving, attending and leaving the workshops, it is your responsibility to ensure that you maintain and adhere to all safety precautions and requirements during the workshop. Little Lane workshops and the attending creatives hold no personal liability or responsibility for any damage, loss or theft incurred to personal property, or any physical injuries obtained during the workshop.
