Are you ready to get knitting?
Join us for our Learn to Knit Workshop, a relaxed and supportive introduction to the beautiful, timeless craft of knitting.
Guided by our experienced teacher Kate, you’ll learn the essential skills needed to create your own knitted fabrics one stitch at a time. This hands-on workshop is perfect if you’ve always wanted to explore knitted textiles, work with beautiful yarns, and understand the foundations of this much-loved artisan craft.
You’ll gain practical, confidence-building skills while learning how to navigate the world of yarns and needles, read simple patterns, and create swatches that set you up for future projects.
What you’ll learn:
- By the end of the workshop, you’ll know how to confidently:
- Cast on
- Cast off
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Read basic knitting patterns
- Choose the right yarn and needles
- Create and understand swatches
This workshop focuses on learning the techniques and enjoying the process, rather than completing a finished item. You’ll leave with a solid foundation in knitting and take your materials home so you can continue practising and start your very first project with confidence.
If you’ve ever thought “I’d love to learn to knit, but I don’t know where to start,” this workshop is for you. We’ve got everything covered to help you start from scratch and leave feeling like a knitter.
Please Note: This class will be held in Studio 2 which is upstairs and unfortunately does not have wheelchair access.

Workshop Details
- As this is an open age class suitable for age 10+ however children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
- No previous experience required – perfect for beginners
- All materials are included plus light refreshments

Your space in a class is reserved only once full payment has been received.
Our workshop tickets are non refundable, but if you are aware you will be unable to attend, you may pass your ticket to someone else you wish to come in your place.
We do require a minimum number of people to run each class. In the rare event we do not meet the minimum numbers required to run a class, you will be offered your choice of a class transfer to a new date or a full refund.
In the event you forget to come or you are unable to attend a workshop, the ticket is non transferable after the event.
Whilst arriving, attending and leaving the workshops, it is your responsibility to ensure that you maintain and adhere to all safety precautions and requirements during the workshop. Little Lane workshops and the attending creatives hold no personal liability or responsibility for any damage, loss or theft incurred to personal property, or any physical injuries obtained during the workshop.
