CHRISTMAS CERAMIC VILLAGE HOUSES WORKSHOP

Join us for this fun and festive workshop with ceramicist Katie Clarke, and create yourself some beautiful little clay Christmas Village house.

Under Katie's guidance, you will be hand making a magical little village trio of beautiful ceramic houses. Just pop a tea light or some twinkling fairy lights inside to bring them to life.

We’ll supply some simple templates to help you create the basic shape for each house and then you can add on whatever decorations or design elements you can dream up - windows, roof tiles, doormats, chimneys… it’s all up to you!

Our workshop teacher Katie will give easy demonstrations to follow along, answer questions plus give you all the tips and techniques you need to create something you can treasure for years to come.

We will use a beautiful textured clay, perfect for hand forming and once it has dried and been through the initial firing it will be glazed in one of Katie’s studio glazes then put in for the final firing, ready for your home. 

A visit to our creative studio and a little bit of clay play is the perfect way to slow down and create a lovely keepsake trio for Christmas this year. 

Please allow up to 4 weeks for glazing and firing to be completed and your finished products to be returned to the studio. We will contact you when they are ready to collect.

Cost is all inclusive of materials and glazing.

No previous experience necessary.

This is an adult open age class but is suitable for age 8 plus and no previous experience is necessary however children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

All materials and light refreshments will be provided.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:

Katie Clarke has called the northern beaches home for the last decade and is a mum to two wild (and wonderful) boys. After surviving postpartum life she first dove into ceramics as a hobby to bring a bit of space in amongst the beauty and mayhem of being a full time mum. 

Since founding Katie Clarke Ceramics she has focused on creating pieces that foster a sense of connection and relationship - mugs to sip from as we chat and do life with our closest, dinnerware for sharing a meal, or more decorative pieces to create a home that feels warm and comfortable to invite others into. Her pieces reflect a desire for peace, with minimalist, organic shapes and neutral, earthy tones.

Katie has a background in primary education and brings creativity, warmth, and a laid back approach to her workshops, facilitating a space that allows participants to enjoy the learning process, hold space for mistakes and imperfections, and ultimately mould the clay into something beautiful to be enjoyed for years to come.
