In this intermediate crochet class, we will spend time working through a couple of flower patterns designed by local crochet artist Alison Thompson.

Alison creates crochet floral bouquets and matches them with real gum leaves foraged from her garden as an alternative to fresh flowers. She has spent many years creating her own patterns and would love to share some with you.

In this class you will learn the terms to look out for when reading a pattern, how to follow a pattern chart as well as written instructions.

You will get to take home, not only your completed flowers but also the patterns for you to continue on with at home.

It is so important that you have basic crochet skills under your belt before attending this class as Alison will be walking you through patterns, not teaching the stitching involved.

What you’ll learn:

  • Starting and finishing a pattern
  • Weaving ends in
  • Changing colour
  • Increasing/decreasing
  • Reading patterns
  • Reading pattern charts
  • How to create a rose, a daisy, and a daffodil (all patterns provided to take home if you don’t complete on the day)

Suitable for any age who knows the basics of crochet.

Please note children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

All materials are provided including nibbles & refreshments.
