Product Details

This introductory ceramic workshop will focus on the principles behind making pinch pots and coil pots, which can be used as decorative or functional pieces in and around the home.

Basic pinch pot forms can be turned into pot plant holders, spice dishes, cups, mugs, jewellery dishes or bowls.

Techniques used to make coil pots make them an attractive choice for decorative pieces or unique pot plant holders.

Over the course of the evening, participants will also have the opportunity to make small dishes and spoons to accompany your pinch pot or coil pot forms!

Participants will be able to choose from two different types of clay (light & dark) or learn how to blend the two in different ways for a unique finish. During this workshops you will be introduced to different foundational ceramic skills, as well as some more decorative techniques that can be used to put the finishing touches on your pieces to truly make them your own.

All pieces made during the workshop will be left to dry for approximately one week, and then placed in the kiln and fired to a stoneware temperature - making the pieces able to hold water.

An optional clear glazing service is available by request at the end of the class for an additional cost per piece.

Participants will be notified when their pieces are ready to be collected from Little Lane Workshops approximately 2-3 weeks after the workshop date.

No experience necessary.

Our address is Studio 4102 N.O 4 Daydream St Warriewood, NSW 2102.

ABOUT THE TUTOR: Held By Her Ceramics

Emilia from Held By Her Ceramics is a local creative born and raised on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Although Emilia has always had a passion for craft (and has tried almost all of them!), she finally found “her thing” after attending ceramic classes and hasn’t looked back since! This passion has lead her to explore different ceramic techniques making her artistic style unique and quirky (just like her!).

Emilia’s love of ceramics and creativity saw her leave her full time role in the disability industry in order to start Held By Her Ceramics, and pursue a career sharing her love of ceramics with the world.
