Join Artist Parika Mahajan and learn how to create moody and interesting abstracts.
In the first two hours of the workshop the participants will learn the basic watercolour concepts and techniques including colour theory (to mix beautiful colours to create balanced and harmonious compositions.). They will learn about abstract mark making and composition. They will also be introduced to various techniques for mark making using things from day to day lives, like bubble wrap, leaves, twigs, gumnuts etc.
In the last 1 hour, the participants will be gently guided and encouraged to paint their own abstract artwork. They can choose to paint 2- three small compositions or a large A3 size composition. I will be helping them to decide a colour palette, mix colours, composition and mark making.
The participants will be provided with a printed guide which they can refer to later, which will cover all the class details alongside pictures and step by step instructions.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
“Painting for me is an intriguing affair; It has a profound connection to my soul and gives me a reason to celebrate the beauty this world has to offer”
My work is inspired by my immense love for nature, especially florals. Flowers bring me JOY and I am always cheerful around them. They weave magic in my heart every time I see their dainty petals.
Flowers have a deep influence in my work or as Claude MONET says “I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers”.
Painting is an intriguing affair for me. It helps me enter a tranquil state, allows me a reason to pause for a bit and celebrate the beauty this world has to offer. I try to portray the same through my art.
I hope my art can evoke the feelings of Warmth and Joy in your life and living space.
